Biography

Hi there, I'm Lo Marie. I am a multi award-winning artist from Madison, Wisconsin with a Bachelor of Music in voice from Vanderbilt University and 4 albums of original music to my name. My latest, The Bar, stretches my jazz sensibility to accommodate forays into funk, bluesy-pop, and theatrical rock. It swept the MAMAs (Madison Area Music Association Awards), netting 6 awards, including “R&B Album of the Year." The album also features contributions from distinguished musicians such as guitarist Teddy Kumpel (Joe Jackson), bassist Bryan Beller (The Aristocrats, Joe Satriani, Dethklok), and Tommy Crane (Aaron Parks). In 2023, I was honored to join the Chicago Chapter of the Recording Academy as an advisor to the board.
Alongside my personal artistic pursuits, I've been a music educator for years. I've taught at Girls Rock Camp for a decade, worked at the UW Summer Music Clinic for two years and finally opened up my own private lesson studio in 2020. My studio is located in an office building in Monona.
Whether you're an adult just picking up music for the first time, a high school student looking toward auditions or you're looking for your child to start to dabble in music, I'd love to be your musical guide.
